Guidance and Counseling Team
The Guidance and Counselling Team upholds the principle of whole-school participation, based on the positive psychology framework PERMA, and implements a school-based three-tier support system to create a caring, harmonious, and resilient happy school.
1. Physical, Mental, and Spiritual Support: Nurturing a Happy Mind
Our team focuses on students’ mental health by establishing a three-tier support system that provides prevention, early identification, and individual support. Regular mindfulness practices are promoted, and a “Comfort Zone” is set up to help students stabilize emotions, enhance concentration, and foster a caring atmosphere for physical and mental well-being.
At the same time, the LIKE Program is promoted, which highlights Chinese virtues through recognition, videos, and life education activities. Students learn to respect life and cultivate gratitude, appreciation, and inclusiveness through diverse experiential activities and community service.
2. Leadership Development: Showcasing Excellence
Our school has established a comprehensive student duty and promotion system, integrating performance evaluation, self-assessment, and reward schemes to recognize students’ service contributions, enhancing their sense of responsibility and achievement. The “Duty King Leaderboard” showcases students’ leadership abilities, encouraging them to learn fairness, communication, and collaboration.
Student leaders also participate in external training such as the Hong Kong Award for Young People (AYP) and Sail Training, where camping, hiking, and team tasks cultivate perseverance, leadership, cooperation, and respect for others.
3. Values Education: Building the Foundation of Character
Our school has developed a values education curriculum with distinctive school-based features, integrating resources from the Education Bureau and external organizations to embed correct values into learning and activities. By optimizing the student values review platform, teacher evaluations, individualized plan reviews, and reward mechanisms, as well as promoting home-school collaboration, the team nurtures students’ good character and positive life attitudes.
